Cornish Cross chicks from our family of hatcheries are fast-growing meat birds that exceed many performance standards. They are the Ross 308 variety. The Cornish Cross are hatched from eggs produced by a family farm in our area. The Lancaster based, family owned company, these are sourced from does not offer retail and due to our shortage of White Rangers we are happy to be able to offer these feed-efficient, robust performers.

In 2005, Kendall and his wife Ginger started hatching chicks in their two-car detached garage. The operation eventually expanded and was launched as Fox Farm & Hatchery, Inc. The Foxes then purchased the Freedom Ranger brand and incorporated the business under the name Freedom Ranger Hatchery, Inc.

The Best Features of the Cornish Cross

Fast-growing and robust is probably the two best terms for describing this chicken. In only 6 to 8 short weeks, they will be ready for processing at a 6-pound live weight. Or, if you prefer a larger roasting weight, they can be processed at up to 10 weeks of age. These birds display extraordinary feed efficiency.
